A 50% price drop for short term subscription
The Deliberation of the French Energy Regulatory Commission of 18 January 2017, forming a decision on the tariffs for the use of regulated LNG terminals, has renewed the transitional measures until the creation a single gas market place in France. These measures were already in place in 2015 in view of the tensions observed on the gas market in the South (Trading Region South market place).
One of the transitional measures is linked to the auction of the annual firm North-South capacity. If the last bid on such product leads to a premium compared to the initial price, the North-South link is considered on a potential congestion situation and the Fos LNG terminals tariffs are consequently reduced to promote the arrival of LNG in the South.
In 2017, the last auction for the 2017-2018 annual firm North-South capacity led to such situation. Therefore, Fosmax LNG informs the market that its tariffs to unload a cargo of LNG at the Fos Cavaou terminal are reduced as follows for any subscription booked and used in less than 6 months (knowing that the unloading has to be carried out during the period below):
- Period : 1st of October 2017 until 30th of September 2018
- Services concerned : All (SMART and SPOT)
- Tariff Reduction : TQD is set at 0,672 €/MWh (compared to 1,343 €/MWh)
